Owning a Piece of Flagstaff History

Sam and Henry have renovated and upgraded the Weatherford Hotel in Flagstaff AZ over the last 40 years, transforming it into the beautiful historic landmark it is today
Sam Green came to Flagstaff in 1979 to study art at NAU, but after getting a job as a waitress at Charly’s, her life took an unexpected turn. Thankfully, in working to renovate the Weatherford Hotel over the past 40 years alongside her husband Henry, she’s had plenty of chances to put her artistic skills to use.
During renovation projects, Sam and Henry held onto the original ceiling tiles and used most of them when restoring the lobby ceiling. However, with several pieces left over, Sam decided to use them for a series of art projects. Now, we have about a dozen pieces of various sizes that are for sale in the new Weatherford gift shop, to help pay for future renovation projects.
These tiles date back to 1897 and each is a one-of-a-kind Flagstaff artifact. Much like the historical buildings that Sam and Henry have dedicated their lives to saving, when they’re gone, they’re gone for good.
